Can’t tell if it works or not
We’ve used these powders on our anxious pooch for about 3 months. It may help a bit – it’s hard to tell, but it’s not cheap.

My dog loves the flavor
I have a Yorkie and I think it is helping his digestion (but he also started a prescription dog food at the same time) and I am not sure how much calmer he is. It isn’t a miracle product but he likes it and I kept him on it for two months every day.and now I give it to him every other day but if I know thunderstorms are in the forecast or I will be gone for a while I make sure to give it to him so maybe it is helping😂. It is pricey so give it a fair amount of time and then decide.

Safe, non-sedative calming for my dog!
My rescue Border Collie was abused as a pup, and tends to be anxious. He is also just naturally a high-energy dog. I didn’t want to sedate him or make him too drowsy to play and work, but was hoping for something to take the anxiety down a notch. THIS STUFF IS GREAT! I would not have immediately thought of the Purina Corp. for a single-ingredient pro-biotic, but that’s what I got. I began buying it at my vet’s office after she recommended it. Since it’s tough for the veterinary office to keep it in stock, I’ve chosen to add it to my Subscribe and Save items. So far, the price has remained reasonable, and the delivery has been consistent. Check with your veterinarian about this stuff – it could be a godsend.

This product is very beneficial for our dog.
We have an elderly Great Dane. He began having digestive issues. This was recommended by his vet. We ordered it and began giving it right away. Not only has his health improved but he loves the taste. It is easy to use. Just sprinkle on his food once a day and all set. Comes on individuals daily packets so no measuring. We buy it on a monthly basis.

Helps with vomiting, scratching, licking due to anxiety
My 12-year-old boxer started throwing up a lot when we moved. The vet recommended this product and it worked SO well! He totally stopped vomiting. When we got our staffy mix puppy, I totally forgot about this stuff. She started licking and scratching a lot, and I wondered if it could be due to anxious energy. I remembered this stuff, ordered it again, and again, it has been a godsend. Two very different dogs responded excellently to this product and I’ll never forget it again! We live in an apartment with very noisy neighbors, and this has helped both of the dogs cope and become so much happier!

Great Stuff
The Purina Calming Care supplements solved a problem with my little 11 year old Jack Russell mix! I’m so excited! I sure hope it will last. She was having trembling problems, not usual, almost like seizures and after sprinkling this on her food for approximately a month she hasn’t had a single episode! My daughter Dana Rinehart highly recommended it and now I do too!

So far so good
It’s been three days since starting this product and it seems to be helping a lot already! I have a 9 month old Beauceron that hits his fear periods hard. For this last one he decided that the gunshots he’s heard everyday since we brought him home were suddenly scary and he was then terrified to go into the backyard (shaking, whining, jumping gates to hide, wouldn’t go potty outside, etc). It was driving me crazy, so I thought to try this and either he coincidentally got over his fear period or the calming packets are working! He’s now fine going outside again and playing and pottying like nothing happened.

Helps My Nervous Boy
My nervous boy is a picky eater and I’ve tried so many calming products to help him with his pacing and separation anxiety. I have tried drops, chews, calming collars, sprays and treats at all price points. Nothing has ever worked. Before resorting to a daily medication, his veterinarian recommended that I sprinkle this on his dry food or on his treats and asked me to commit to using it for 3-4 weeks. Not only can I tell a big difference in his anxiety level but he actually loves the taste! I simply put a few treats in his little food dish and sprinkle the packet on the treats (1/2 a packet in the am and 1/2 packet before bedtime). He eats his treats and then licks all the powder out of the dish, too! Within a week there was such a positive change in my sweet boy that the price is definitely worth it! If you’ve tried everything else, give this a try!

Worked really well
These worked really well if we kept on a consistent schedule and time given. I noticed it having a lesser effect if given at different times, but that may be just because my dog is a creature of routine. I also really reeeaaalllyyy liked that it had an actual calming effect and didn’t just zonk him out. I want my dog to be less stressed, not drugged up.

Helps our dog
Calming Care has helped our 15 pound terrier mix to have a healthy tummy, and keep his cool. He definitely seems like he’s a little more “go with the flow” and less concerned about variations in his usual routine when he is taking this consistently. He’s a very picky eater and has no problem with the flavor or texture when added to his regular food.

Helps alleviate some aggressive behavior
My chihuahua is a very possessive high strung dog and started showing some major aggression towards my mellow senior dog. This has helped alleviate maybe 80% of the aggression which I’m thankful for. With consistent dosing I see results but if I skip a dose or lapse in my subscription I definitely notice a shift back to his usual behavior.

Works great
Works great to help my papillon be more chilled. It takes about a month but gradually by the end of the month I could see a difference. Have used for two months now and I do see a difference. So for my dog it’s a great product. I did find a better price on the manufacturers website (better price, even taking into account the Amazon subscription discount) so I switched my order over there.

Works well but this is TOO HIGHLY PRICED, same as Probiotics Bifidobacterium Longum BB536
This probiotic works VERY WELL in perhaps most dogs. We are so much a product of what is colonizing our guts, human and beast alike! We don’t even realize that what we eat AFFECTS WHAT WE THINK (this is an entire field of research and it is fascinating and well established!)This is a HIGHLY DESIRED PROBIOTIC, butPURINA IS CHARGING TOOOO MUCH FOR THIS PROBIOTIC …(current pricing January 2024 is over a dollar a day! Available in January 2024 in other packaging for less than 25 cents per day!)…simply because of their name, the perceived exclusive access, and some broth flavoring.>>>Instead, search forProbiotics Bifidobacterium Longum BB536…Available here on Amazon, and save yourself a lot of money, and send a message to Purina that we consumers can research medical literature and figure out that Bifidobacterium Longum BB536 is the EXACT SAME probiotic! Some bacteria have been given a different name in the past to now, the same as plants can have more than one botanical name — actually they have an older name and a corrected updated name.It is common for example in te plant trade for nurseries to not give up an old botanical name and yet current scientific literature has the new botanical name. So one must know both names to learn accurate information about such particular plants. That is what is happening here.Research it for yourself if you desire on Google Scholar and other published science search sites. It did take me a day of research to figure it out, but I had a hunch that since I could not find this name ANYWHERE — WHY IS THAT??? — that there was perhaps another name at play. Why would Purina be the ONLY access to a particular probiotic??!!! That answer is: THEY ARE NOT THE ONLY ACCESS.And what else is happening here is that Purina has found a lifesaving control for anxious pets, and priced it obscenely high.Search for BB536 and save yourself a heap of money. Break open the capsules and sprinkle on pet’s food.Watch their calmness levels increase.Highly recommend the probiotic. I do use other of Purina’s products for quality at a decent price.Wake up Purina and stop gouging the public.

High energy dog relaxes well

Great product! The dog loves it! $1 per pouch!
Our ~60lb Lab mix is a fan of the FortiFlora supplement, as he seems to really enjoy the taste and it helped his tummy issues immediately. We figured we would give the Calming Care supplement a try, since he has bad separation anxiety (rescue) and literally tore his plastic / metal crate up in the middle of the night because he wasn’t within 5 feet of us as we all slept.Thankfully, Calming Care seems to have been helping! Not only has he seemed a lot calmer when going to bed / leaving the house without him, but his tummy issues have continued to be diminished! We obviously cannot tell for sure if this product has directly correlated with the improvement of behavior, but I know for a fact that it has helped his stomach, since FortiFlora had done the same. Aside from using Calming Care, the only difference we made when putting him in his crate, is getting him a new toy that stays in the crate at all times, and we play music for him (Reggae works the best- there’s plenty of 5-10hr videos on youtube for dogs).Yes, the toy and the music could’ve been what actually helped him, but for $1 per pouch, lasting all month… this product is a no-brainer. The change in his behavior was quite literally over night, and as I said, it helps his stomach and helps him enjoy his food’s taste a lot more.

Life changing!!!
**I NEVER write Amazon reviews, but had to!I have a 4 year old chiweenie who has always been very fearful and averse to new people and places. I’ve tried practically everything, including VERY EXPENSIVE private training sessions. Everything except a daily antidepressant/anxiety med. She’s never fully but anyone but she has snapped a few times. Because of this and her crazy barking at everything/everyone, I haven’t really been able to bring her anywhere except for walks around my apartment.I saw this and figured why not, let’s give it a try, not expecting much. I didn’t really notice anything until I took her to the vet and realized she wasn’t barking at every person she saw in the parking lot! I took her to pet smart after and she was able to walk around without barking!! The next day we went to the dog park and she was able to enjoy it without running the fence barking at the big dogs the whole time!! I finally asked a friend to come over to see how she’d do with a stranger and she jumped right into her lap!! I’m training someone from Rover to do drop ins and expected an extra 7 sessions to allow her to warm up but she jumped right on her, licking her face and all too!We are just finishing the first box and I have already ordered more. I am in tears, this magic powder is absolutely life changing!!!!!

It really works!!!
Vet recommended this product to keep my 125 pound dog calm during fireworks holidays… it really works!! We start her on the packets a day or two ahead of the 4th and New Year’s Eve… she LOVES the flavor, you just sprinkle it on-no pill struggles-and gobble gobble! Relaxed her, she snoozes! Great product at a very fair price. Thanks, purina!

I don’t know how it works but it does. After about a week my Pomeranian had a vast improvement in his separation anxiety. He waits patiently (after initial barking for a few minutes) until he is let out of his crate. He is happier and so am I!

Dog won’t touch it he doesn’t like the flavor
I wish there were other flavors available, or even better, a tasteless version of calming care. My dog refuses to eat the liver flavor and turns his nose up, I’ve even tried to disguise it in cheese, ground chicken and beef, and wet food. His nose is good and if he smells it he won’t eat any of the food. I feel this product would benefit him if he could manage to eat it.

Calming Care works for our dogs.
We have 2 male chihuahua. One is very playful, but fearful. The other is standoffish and jealous. About a year ago the jealous dog began attacking the playful dog. Vet tried prescription meds for Mr Jealous, but we took him off that. Did not see much change. A different Vet recommended Calming Care. I was doubtful, but willing to try. (We did not want to re-home him). To my surprise, Calming Care plus training worked. He improved. The Vet recommended the fearful dog have the Calming Care as well. She believed his fearful reaction was inciting Mr Jealous. He now shows less fear to the other dog. They are getting along and even play together. While I’m not a fan of the expense of 2 boxes per month, the Calming Care allows them to get along. That’s a win.

Liver flavoring contains pork and poultry
My dog has been on this for about ten months, I don’t know if I’ve noticed a difference in her anxiety but it hasn’t made it worse. The product is fine and my dog likes the taste.Reason for 3 stars: this product is flavored with liver flavoring but the product and the website don’t list where the liver flavoring is obtained. My dog has a mild poultry allergy (runny nose, itchy ears/paws). Normally my bf feeds the animals but he’s out of town and I completely forgot to give my dog this supplement for about the last week. I noticed today that she hasn’t had any of her mild allergies in a few days, normally I have to give her Benadryl about once a day. I had to call Purina to find out how they get the liver flavoring and was transferred to what I assume is a scientist. I was told that the liver flavoring is obtained from pork and poultry, but it’s “hydrolyzed” so the animals in their trials didn’t have any allergic reactions to it. I told the lady that my dog did and she told me my dog was a lemon. LOL a lemon! Talk about weird customer service. So yeah, 3 stars for the very weird phone call and the fact that it’s not listed anywhere that this contains pork and poultry product.

Did not work for my dogs
I work in the vet field and am a huge fan of Purina Pro Plan and their probiotics. I recently adopted 2 dogs that were street dogs down south and were taken to the shelter and then brought to a rescue. There first couple months with me were rough and training was not going well. One of my dogs is clearly carrying a lot of trauma with him from his past. Was putting this in his food as a first attempt to help him and it did nothing. I think that if your dog has occasional anxiety or anxiety that is not so severe this might work better for you. Since my dog is probably going to need prescription medication for his anxiety it did not touch him.

BE AWARE OF THE SOLD BY – but other than that, it looks to be working
It seems to be working for my dog. His “freak outs” aren’t as bad and don’t last as long as they were. Just be aware, in everything I read, it can take up to 6 weeks to work, which makes sense. It needs to get into their system. But he really seems to be doing a lot better. He would be panting heavily and shaking for hours. And we can’t figure out what the triggers are. It just happens. He hasn’t done that after about 5 to 6 weeks on the product.Now. The warning. I ordered a box and when I went to use the first one, there were all of these shavings or flakes, as seen in the picture, mixed in the powder. I then checked more packets and they all had this stuff mixed in. I contacted Purina and they asked me to provide them with information so they can report it to their quality department. One of the things that they told me is “If you see the “sold by” listed as anything other than Amazon, this will be a third-party seller and we do not authorize the sale on Amazon by these sellers and cannot guarantee their authenticity.”Sure enough. I went back and looked. The boxes that were good were sold by Amazon. The one with these shavings was supplied by and sold by IAQ. And since this product is non-refundable, I’m out almost $35. I bought a new box and made sure it was sold by Amazon this time.

Meh
Recommended by vet for our easily excited mixed breed. We haven’t seen ANY improvement. However, it gets 4 stars because she’s more inclined to eat her dull diet formula when it is topped with this! But too pricey to maintain. Almost as expensive as her designer food.

Worked wonders on my Aussie.
My miniature Australian Shepherd was raised in a kennel and used to breed puppies for the first six years of her life. I picked her up and she was so nervous , timid and very afraid of men especially. My vet recommended this and it has worked wonders. She is still timid, but rarely nervous. She has even started coming out of the bedroom to greet visitors.

I bought this bc of a recommendation from a veterinarian. My dog started eating her stool and I wasn’t sure why. I spoke with a vet and she recommended a probiotic to help with digestion. Behavior improvements in aging dog
Our dog had started to get a little grumpy and snappy toward our younger, more energetic dog, to the point where they got into a fight (everybody was ok, thankfully). When we took the older dog to the vet to get checked out after their scrap, the doctor suggested trying this product to help calm the dog a bit. I was skeptical that a probiotic would make any difference in her behavior, but it actually seems to have worked extremely effectively — and quickly, too. In the months since starting these supplements in our older dog, there have been no more scraps or growling between the two dogs and the older dog has been her typical spry, energetic, and friendly self again. These are a little (OK, a lot) on the pricey side, but it sure beats another emergency vet bill and it’s nice to know our pups are getting along great again.

I have a very fearful rescue. My behaviorist recommended this and shared that dog research showed scared dogs were missing some gut bacteria. It hasn’t been a cure all but my dog is letting me pet her more than usual and isn’t running away from my movements as often. Of course she could just be feeling safer and safer but I’m going to keep using it in case it is the reason she’s feeling safer.

Works on Chihuahuas!
I bought this for my 10 yr old chihuahua who’s been really struggling with separation anxiety from me lately. She was to the point of getting so tense when I’d leave her with my mother, whom she loves, she would be sore and yelp in pain. I began giving this by sprinkling it on her kibble. She devoured it! I smelled the packet of powder and honestly, it smells really good. She is so much more at ease. Just today I had to leave her for 8 hours with my mother. Usually, I would’ve walked in to her howling and screeching in misery from the anxiety. Today, she ran up to me and began jumping on my leg for me to pick her up. I did and she didn’t cry out in pain which means she was calm and ok all day. I’ll be keeping this on hand for sure. My vet recommended it and I’m so glad she did. It’s a life changer for my 4 lb Ruby.

Worth it!
I’ve actually been using this product for several years now and it works great for my dog. I was using another product that also worked, but during the pandemic it became difficult to get and ultimately ended up not being produced anymore so I switched over to this. I am not a fan of Purina, but their Rx line of supplements really do seem to work well.I have a GSD mix who was very anxious, which can be typical of the breed, but he was so bad that even trying to socialize him seemed to cause him more distress.I do not believe one product will work for all dogs, and I would say wait two weeks at a minimum to figure out if it’s helping; but this really did work for my dog. He has been a much calmer dog with this product. The only downside to me is the price and the fact I cannot get the three pack from Purina anymore, but other than that it’s a product I would recommend anyone to try if their dog suffers from anxiety.

Wonderful product
My dog has a terminal health issue that requires that he not get too anxious or keyed up because he willstart to have difficulty breathing. Purina FortiFlora Calm was recommended by his vet. We give him a packet with his breakfast, and it not only keeps him calm, but he loves the taste so eats all his food. Since he is not feeling so well, he was also not too interested in food. Although he is calm, he is not “drugged” so he is not loopy or unsteady on his feet.

Try it! Don’t let your dog suffer!!
Tried this on my vet’s recommendation, and I wish I had known about this years ago. My dog has always been afraid of storms, but recently became scared of the car due to frequent vet visits this year. 🙁 I didn’t see an immediate improvement, but after several weeks I noticed that her reactions to storms and car rides was down from an 8 to a 4/5. I’ll still use a prescription chill pill for vet visits, but this is great for daily stresses.

Love Calming probiotics
My Dane is a wuss and anxious over a leaf turning over. He’s in a quiet home with multiple anxiety medications, but I got him these probiotics thinking they would probably do nothing, but at least I could say I did everything I could? I am actually seeing a difference in his mood. He used to have thunderstorm anxiety and would pace, drool, whine and sometimes crap on the floor during a storm. He has stopped crapping on the floor and tbh that by itself makes me keep buying this product. He seems less anxious too.

Surprised these actually work for my doberman
The media could not be loaded.
We have tried many calming agents for our rescue Doberman, who was kidnapped for a month, and someone returned him to us. He always had anxiety, but since the kidnapping, his anxiety has been insane. We tried various calming things for him, but nothing did the trick. Our Vet recommended this, and we’ve been using it for a few months now and truly notice the difference. Actually, we stopped it for a few days, and he crazy again and only calmed down when we sprinkled this in his food. So, I highly recommend this to anybody who is looking for a non-pharmaceutical solution to help calm their dog down. Our dog even loves it and does a little happy dance when he sees us sprinkle it in his bowl! Calming care
I have been using this product for over 4 years with my reactive Pomeranian. It was recommended by my Behavioral Veterinarian. Love the ease of the packets, however they make the product expensive and now that the size of the packages have been reduced from 45 packets to 30, the expense even greater. Truthfully not a fan of Purina and I was skeptical, but it has helped with my dogs behavior, so I have sucked it up even with the increase in price, which is ridiculous.
