These easy chicken and liver dog cookies are an excellent way to add some extra nutrition to your pup’s diet. The liver is full of protein, B vitamins, iron, and omega fatty acid. Tips for success:

While making these chicken and liver dog cookies,  I found it much easier to cook the liver, and then chop it into small pieces. The small pieces are easier to fold into the dough.

I also used a couple of extra tablespoons of chicken broth while mixing the dough to ensure it was moist enough to hold its form. The dough should be firm, so if you need to add some extra chicken broth be sure to add it one tablespoon at a time. 2-3 tablespoons should be plenty.

Benefits of Chicken Liver for Dogs

Chicken liver is a nutrient-dense organ meat that can offer several health benefits to dogs. One of the primary benefits of chicken liver is its high content of protein, which is crucial for building and repairing muscles, tissues, and cells in the body. Protein also plays a vital role in maintaining a healthy coat and skin in dogs. In addition to protein, chicken liver is an excellent source of vitamins A, B12, and iron, which can help support your dog’s immune system and energy levels.

Another benefit of chicken liver for dogs is that it can help improve digestion. The liver contains a range of natural enzymes and bile acids that can assist in the digestion and absorption of nutrients from food. This can be especially helpful for dogs with digestive issues or those who are transitioning to a new diet.

Last (but not least), chicken liver is low in fat and calories, making it a great treat for dogs who need to lose weight. Overall, chicken liver is a nutritious and tasty addition to your dog’s diet that can provide several health benefits.
